The Daily Family Call sequence, end to end

Every day at your scheduled time we place a short, friendly wellbeing call. When it's answered, check-in takes a single key press. When it isn't, we keep trying across two numbers and three rounds — and only after all six attempts do we escalate to your eGuardianAngels.

  1. Pick a time
Choose when you'd like the daily check-in call. Your timezone is handled automatically, including daylight saving.

  2. We call
Press 1 to confirm you're OK, or 9 to raise an emergency. One key — that's the whole check-in.

  3. Angels informed
Your eGuardianAngels receive updates via email for when you check-in "ok" and are alerted immediately with email, SMS, and voice calls — if something looks wrong.

The sequence

6 attempts. 2 numbers. 3 rounds.

If you don't answer the first call, we don't give up — we simply try again in a sensible pattern. You can adjust the delays between rounds on the schedule page.

Round 1

Immediate
Call your primary number. A few minutes later, try your secondary number if you've verified one.

Round 2

After a short pause
Wait your configured delay (default: 2 hours, up to 4 hours). Repeat: primary, then secondary.

Round 3

Final pair
Wait your second delay (default: 3 hours), then two final tries — primary, then secondary.

Important: there will be false positives. People go on walks, forget their phones, or simply miss calls. That's not a problem — the goal is a social safety net: if you don't check in, someone is told and can follow up. Missing a single attempt never triggers anything; only missing all check-ins does.

What happens, step by step

Follow the path from your scheduled time to either a clean check-in or an eGuardianAngel alert.

Scheduled time hits

Your daily call is queued at the time you chose, in your timezone.

Round 1 — primary number

We ring the primary number first.

  • Press 1 → checked in
  • Press 9 → emergency
  • No answer → continue

Round 1 — secondary number

A few minutes later we try your secondary number (if a verified one is on file).

  • Wait · delay 1

Round 2 — primary, then secondary

Same pair, after the first configurable pause.

  • Wait · delay 2

Round 3 — primary, then secondary

Final pair of attempts.

All 6 missed → notify eGuardianAngels
Only if every single attempt fails do we escalate. Your angels receive email + SMS + a voice call, in priority order.

  • Press 1 during the call
Stops the whole sequence for the day. Your angels see a successful check-in via an email.
  • Press 9 during the call
Immediately raises the emergency flag and alerts your eGuardianAngels across every channel.

You don't have to wait for the call

Any of these proactive options will mark you as safe for the day and cancel the scheduled call.

  • Call in
Dial the Daily Family Call inbound number from a verified phone, press 1, and you're done.
  • Text "OK"
Reply (or send) OK, YES, or OKAY from a verified phone to log a positive check-in.
  • Web check-in
When signed in, the "Today's check-in" card on your home screen lets you mark yourself OK with a single click.

The role of your eGuardianAngels

eGuardianAngels are the people you trust to check on you if a call is missed. They don't need an account, they don't need to pay, and you can assign priority so the right person is contacted first.

How notifications travel

  • Daily summary — when enabled, each angel gets a short daily note with the check-in status of the people they protect.
  • Escalation — if all six attempts are missed, every angel is notified in priority order via email, SMS, and a voice call.
  • Emergency — pressing 9 or texting HELP/ EMERGENCY immediately alerts every angel through every channel, regardless of priority.

What angels can do

  • Accept the role — each angel confirms they want to protect you before they receive any alerts.
  • Stay informed — see the latest check-in status for everyone they protect.
  • Mutual protection — angels can also be clients, so your family can watch out for each other.
